Your 90-Day MOVE Method Plan: Putting the Four Pillars Together
Your 90-Day MOVE Method Plan: Putting the Four Pillars Together

Over the past 12 weeks, we've talked about movement, muscle, body weight, nutrition, sleep, and recovery.

Now it's time to put everything together.

The MOVE Method isn't about finding one magic treatment for knee pain or arthritis. It's about improving the health of the whole person, so your joints have the best possible environment to keep moving.

Think of your health like a table with four legs.

If one leg is weak, the table becomes unstable.

The four legs of the MOVE Method are:

M = Motion & Muscle

O = Optimal Body Weight

V = Vital Nutrition

E = Energy & Recovery

You don't have to perfect all four tomorrow.

You just need to start.

M: Move and Build Muscle

Remember two of our most important principles:

Motion is lotion. Muscle is medicine.

Your joints were designed to move, and your muscles act like natural shock absorbers.

During the next 90 days, make regular movement part of your daily routine and include resistance training based on your ability and medical condition.

You aren't training to become a bodybuilder.

You're training to stay independent.

O: Work Toward Your Optimal Body Weight

Extra weight places additional stress on your knees.

That's why we introduced the First 10-Pound Challenge.

Don't become overwhelmed thinking about the final number on the scale.

Focus on the next achievable milestone.

Every pound matters.

V: Give Your Body the Building Materials

Exercise gives your muscles a reason to grow.

Nutrition gives them the building materials.

Prioritize quality protein, vegetables, fruit, fiber, healthy fats, and hydration.

For appropriate patients, supplements such as essential amino acids, creatine monohydrate, collagen peptides, vitamin D, and curcumin may also support a larger nutrition and joint-preservation strategy.

But supplements are additions to the foundation, not replacements for it.

E: Recover So You Can Keep Going

More exercise isn't always better.

Your body needs time to rebuild.

Aim for adequate sleep. Manage stress. Give your muscles time to recover.

Think of recovery as charging your phone.

You wouldn't expect your phone to work all day if you never plugged it in.

Your body isn't much different.

Your 90-Day MOVE Method Challenge

Here's your practical takeaway:

For the next 90 days, choose one measurable goal from each pillar.

Walk 20 minutes each day.

Resistance train two or three days per week.

Work toward your first 10 pounds.

Put protein on your plate at every meal.

Give yourself at least seven hours in bed.

Take 10 minutes each day to intentionally recover.

Start with what is realistic for you.

Then track your progress.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal is becoming a little stronger, healthier, and more capable every week.

That's also the philosophy behind my Knee Preservation Program. We aren't simply treating an X-ray or chasing pain from one appointment to the next.

We're building a healthier body around the joint.

Move. Build muscle. Reduce unnecessary load. Fuel your body. Recover. Repeat.

That's the MOVE Method.

And it's a plan you can continue using long after these first 90 days are over.

Because the ultimate goal isn't simply having less pain.

It's being able to keep doing the things you love.

Helping you stay active without surgery whenever possible.
